How to get there?
It is located 120 miles south of the city of Mexicali, on the border with Calexico, California. To get to San Felipe you can take Federal Highways No. 5 from Mexicali to San Felipe, and No. 3 from Ensenada to San Felipe. To arrive by air there is an International Airport of the same name that can only receive private flights.
What to fish?
Tourist service providers in the area point out that it is possible to find sailfish, artic bonito, Cravelle Jack, amber jack, swordfish and mahi mahi during all seasons of the year, while marlin and tuna predominate from November to March. You can also fish for pacific sierra and triggerfish.
Don't forget to try fishing near the island called Roca Consag, off the coast of the destination, where you will find yellowfin and corvina.
The tourism authorities invite sport fishermen to take care of the species in the area and to practice catch and release so that the next time you visit you will have the opportunity to fish again.
