In addition to its vast white sand beaches and turquoise sea, the community of Los Barriles is a true sanctuary for fishing enthusiasts.
Mexicans and travelers from abroad congregate at the Los Barriles pier to set sail in their boats out to sea, with the purpose of obtaining the best catches.
One of the activities that offers the most recreational possibilities in Los Barriles is sport fishing.
It is projected as an authentic challenge to explore the local coasts in search of catching the biggest specimens of sailfish, roosterfish, dorado and especially marlin.
It should not be forgotten that Los Cabos and its surroundings, where Los Barriles is located, is considered the world capital of marlin.
For this reason, year after year the best exponents of sport fishing come to this part of the Mexican territory, with the purpose of measuring their skills in big international competitions.
Therefore, the most important fishing tournaments in Los Cabos and Los Barriles take place between the months of May and October.
As a result, in Los Barriles there are more than 200 boats ready to reach the sea and practice diving, navigation and observation of the underwater biodiversity.
