Laguna Rodolfo Fierro

The Rodolfo Fierro Lake is located a few kilometers from Nuevo Casas Grandes, where visitors can practice sport fishing and water skiing. This lagoon was built in 1885 by the Mormons, who, needing water from the Casas Grandes River for their crops, sought a way to divert the current through a small channel to store it in what is now this splendid lake. Currently, the water is distributed to different towns in the area.

What to fish?
Although the lake has a great diversity of specimens, sport fishing is mainly focused on catching carp and catfish.

How to get there?
It is located 7 minutes from the town of Nuevo Casas Grandes in the municipality of Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico. You can get to the lagoon by taking the 2 de abril highway east of the Nuevo Casas Grandes Municipal Airport.
