Chiquilá beach is located on the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula, in the State of Quintana Roo, within the limits of the flora and fauna protection area.
For sport fishing in Chiquilá you have to get to Cancun International Airport, which receives flights from the main cities of the United States and Europe. From the airport to Playa Chiquilá it takes approximately 2 hours by road. There are also several buses that can take you from Cancun.
What to fish?
The sport fishing in Chiquilá is magnificent and special for fly fishing. It is common to catch grouper, sailfish, white marlin, blue marlin, tuna, wahoo, pacific sierra, mahi mahi and large snappers, the most abundant being tarpon and snook. The island's fishermen also dive for lobster and conch.
